PREVIOUS GIGS
Relive our past triumphs with this handy chronological list of observations and moans

Friday 11th July - Lounge on the Farm Festival – Tractor Trash Stage, Merton Farm, Canterbury . An empty cowshed full of manure-ridden dust that coated us and our gear. No one seemed to know that anyone was playing...rocknroll eh?

Saturday 26th April - Oxjam Festival. Jon manages to get sunburnt in one hour. Nice and loud on stage.

Wednesday 23rd April - New Cross Inn . A bit of a laugh, some old faces and some new.

Friday 11th April - Nags Head Rochester . With Armitage Shanks. A good one, both bands played a blinder. Rochester is the rocknroll capital of Medway.

Saturday 15th March - Parliament Club, London . With The Fallen Leaves, Hungry Dog Brand, The Vandebilts. Good room, good sound, good set. Absolutely pissing down outside. Under a flyover. Reminded me of Bladerunner for some reason.

Wednesday 30th January - The Castle, Luton . On a cold, desolate night in darkest Luton , we had a lot more fun than we anticipated. Sometimes a small but appreciative audience is better than a large non-committal audience. Or something.

Saturday January 19th - Leonard's Bar, London - It was the last night of the shooting of Heath Ledger's latest film just a few yards from the venue. Two days later he was dead. Not our fault.

Saturday January 12th - 12 Bar Club, London - Good fun on the smallest stage in London. Always a treat to spend the gig dodging the neck of your partner in rock's axe.

2007

Saturday December 15th - Magnetic Field, Brooklyn, New York (with Dirty Excuse). Our extensive USA tour ends on a high at this friendly rocknroll bar. We'll bring our own guitar straps next time.

Wednesday December 12th - Hawaiian Tropic Zone, New York (with The Woggles, The Gripweeds). Bikinis, ear-gouging volume, borrowed gear, free booze, go-go dancers... A mixed bag but a good night overall.

Friday December 7th - Nag's Head, Rochester. The Selmer Treble n Bass blows up..

Thursday December 6th - The Windmill, Brixton. Last minute warm up for the USA gigs. The Selmer Treble n Bass sounds great.

Thursday November 1st - Royal Rooms, Rochester + Graham Day and the Gaolers. Pretty cosy, like playing in a large living room with all your relatives staring suspiciously at you. It was good though. Nice sound. Carpets on the floor.

Friday October 5th -L'Escalier, Liege, Belgium + Len Price 3, Captain Kirk. Thoroughly enjoyable evening all round with our mates from the LP3 and the Kirk boys. Good audience, venue everything. Pity it wasn't the first night of a tour.

Friday 21 September - Bullet Bar, Kentish Town. Headpress launch party with The Masonics and RazorDog.

Friday September 14th - Dirty Water Club. With the Wildebeests. A good one. There's a video of some songs from this gig here

Friday August 17th Nags's Head Rochester. Not with the Len Price 3. Thought we played pretty well, and the neighbours didn't complain.

Thursday August 2nd - The Enterprise, Camden. With The Bleeps. A convivial evening. Very intimate. Relaxed. A little empty. Damn smoking ban may help kill off live music...

Friday 13th July - Lounge on the Farm festival, Canterbury . Well, we had to compete with the Super Furry Animals playing at the same time on the main stage...but highly enjoyable. We had those tent flaps ermm..flapping.

Wednesday 4th July - The Good Ship, Kilburn. With the Masonics. A bit like playing in a bear pit, but with no bears. And a stage. But it was good.

Friday 1st June - Motherbar, Old St. London .

Monday 23rd April - Tap'n'Tin, Chatham - Best we've played for a while. Pity it was a Monday night in a student venue when all the students are on holiday. But those that were there seemed to enjoy it, particularly Francis's personal fanclub.

Friday 23rd February - Windmill, Brixton - A rare return to the stage, with a load of new songs, a few funny cockups and a small tantrum.

2006

Friday 22nd December Holland - Hengelo , Innocent
Jon finds his voice at the bottom of his suitcase and normal service is resumed. We were good.

Thursday 21st December Germany - Münster, Gleis 22
with the Stillettos. Thanks for making our jaws ache with laughter boys.' Holland - that's in Amsterdam , right?'

Wednesday 20th Germany - Furth , Kunstkellar
An old undergournd bomb bunker. Nice place and people. Let yourself out in the morning lads.

Tuesday 19th December Germany - Heidelberg , Storchennest
Best gig, broken strings a-go-go, wet floor, Cockney market trader approach to selling merchandise bemuses the locals

Monday 18th December Germany - Berlin , Wild at Heart
Voice still lost, but we are pros.

Sunday 17th December Germany - Chemnitz , Subway to Peter
It gets light again. Good cellar club, DIY approach, garlic vodka, pass round the hat, Jon mislays his voice.

Saturday 16th December Germany - Koln , Sonic Ballroom
It goes all dark... bad moods all round. His Lordship's amp breaks.

Friday 15th December Holland - Rotterdam , The Waterfront
Great venue, great sound. Audience a bit thin on the ground but they helped us rock unselfishly.

Friday 8th December - Bloomsbury Lanes with the Fabulous Penetrators

3rd November - The Lauriston, Hackney
In which His Lordship arrives half an hour after we should have started playing. Still, a nice cosy 20 minutes.

21st October - Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, London .
A good one. Dancing, shouting and encores. Just like a real gig.

24th September - Carlo Levi, Liege . With Momo la Mana
A small but very appreciative audience. We rocked and then we drove to the ferry.

23rd September - Le Coliseum, Charleroi , with Captain Kirk, Billy Bolley.
A good one. Like playing in a glass sauna. A very big sauna overlooking a night club dance floor. With a bar.

14th September - Rhythm Factory, London , with the Len Price 3.

12th August - Endorse-it in Dorset Festival (Six Penny Handley), LGO Big Top.
1pm - a real rock'n'roll time slot at a 3 day festival... However, punters were lured into our big tent and enjoyed our lunchtime treat. Sold a few copies of our new album by mistake... It's not officially out yet, you see.

28th July - Dirty Water Club. With The Urban Voodoo Machine and The Tumbitas. A proper gig, good sound, played well, good crowd, got paid. What more can you ask? Apart from world peace and food for all.

21st July - Dublin Castle , London . With Chinese lungs, Girls on Top. Jon goes funny from nicotine withdrawal and threatens to leave the band. As if.

28th May - The Village pub - Crosby village festival. 5 venues around a pedestrianised precinct, bands playing simultaneously..... No drum stool, kit moving across the stage at a rate of knots, broken strings, indifferent audience. And the car had to be towed back to London . Not the best gig ever.

27th May - The Cavern (front stage - evening) IPO Festival. Much better. Small stage, hot as a sauna. A good one.

27th May - The Cavern (back stage - afternoon) IPO Festival. The days entertainment started earlier due to another venue pulling out, meaning slots had to be found for a dozen bands. Not many punters about at 2pm . Once again we played a blinder to a handful. That's rocknroll.

26th May - The Attic, Accrington . International weekender. Nice venue, disappointing turnout considering the amount of promotion work. I think the audience was mostly the other bands. Obviously we rocked anyway.

10th May - Upstairs at the Garage, London , with Serpico. - Midweek gig in London . Says it all really. We were good though.

28th April - Command House, Chatham , Kent . With the Len Price 3 (who were, it's got to be said, pretty damn good. And loud). This is an odd place for a gig, a cellar bar with no stage and the punters standing 2 inches away staring into your eyes. Slightly intimidating, with a typically suspicious medway crowd. But we overcame our pre-season nerves to pull it off, with a few new tunes in the mix to spice it up. It was good to be back. Showbiz is in our blood you know.

11th February - Coca Cabana, Metz , France , with Captain Kirk. And after our best gig the night before, a strange anti climax. Complaints from neighbours and a nervous bar owner mean that the gig is pulled after 5 songs from Captain Kirk. Bit of a downer - the place was packed. No riots, because it was free to get in, but plenty of sullen muttering. Now we wait for April 28th..

10th February - La Zone, Liege , Belgium , with Captain Kirk. Our best ever gig? Possibly... great club, another exciteable audience and, a bit of argy bargy (His Lordship jumps into the punters and sorts 'em out with his axe), and loads of encores. We nearly ran out of songs. Look out for some live MP3s from this gig very soon.

9th February - Babylone Cafe, Amiens , France . With Captain Kirk. A tiny cellar, vocal PA and a very sweaty and exciteable audience. Rocknroll heaven. And we had to cram a 45 minute set into 25 minutes because someone forget to check if there was a curfew... We did it though. Some very fast versions.. Flyer here

7th February - Ravensbourne College of Art and Design. With the Dominoes. A riproaring night of rocknroll debauchery. Actually it wasn't. It was a Tuesday night in Elmstead woods. Nuff said. Good rehearsal for our European gigs though....

19th January - The Cockpit @ The Fighting Cocks, Kingston . First gig of the year. A slightly bigger and more appreciative audience, still a nice little venue. Allan is not thwarted at all and makes his lead vocal debut on his first all original composition. Continents collide, volcanoes erupt etc. Also featuring Pipe and Primary School Hero.

2005

30th November - The Cockpit @ The Fighting Cocks, Kingston . Last gig of the year. A small but appreciative audience, nice little venue. And Allan is thwarted by a mere minute in his quest to make his singing debut on his first all original composition for any band. Those words loved by bands everywhere... 'make that the last one lads'. Oh well, next time. And it will be the same venue for our next gig, January 20th..

20th November - Punk and Ska all-dayer - Dagenham and Redbridge FC. One of those strange gigs that happen to bands occasionally. We thought we played a slightly shoddy gig and didn't do ourselves justice. But then for the rest of the night we had people coming up to us and telling us how wonderful they thought we were. And it was the best night for selling CDs/EPs and T-shirts we've had for ages. Strange. If we'd played a blinder no one would have taken any notice. That's the way it goes sometimes in this strange and wonderful of rocknroll.

2nd November - The Spread Eagle - Shoreditch. With The Duel and the Vacants. Turned out highly enjoyable. Very small place, no stage, makeshift PA, pissing down outside. But it was good, and some enthusiastic dancing in the tiny area between the band and the bar. One of the better midweek gigs.

21st October - Dirty Water club, Tufnell Park , with the Bare Necessities and Ghostwriter. A great night for us, not so sure if the other artists enjoyed it so much. And apparently you could hear our vocals!

6th October - Clockwork, Angel, London N1 - with some other bands. Can't remember who they were because two of them decided not to turn up, without the courtesy of telling the promoter or the other bands. The band that headlined were about 17 (nothing wrong with that) and played ZZ Top covers (something definitely wrong with that. Highly disturbing). We were good and some people braved the dance floor for our set. Thank you.

30th September - Soul Bowl at the Citrus rooms, Barnsley - with the Freebooting Profiteers and the Concrete & Piss sound system. A good night, got the punters dancing, friendly people, nice venue. The only downer was the acoustics, which sounded akin to putting a tannoy in a lift shaft. Put them right and Barnsley will be the rocknroll capital of the North. Maybe.

10th September - Tap 'n' tin, Chatham - with the Len Price 3. A great venue, not the sort of thing you might expect to find in Chatham ! More like a European arts venue, lots of different rooms and bars with contrasting vibes. A good gig, despite some bounder knicking our last couple of badges from the merchandising. And our good mates the LP3 were rocking as usual. Ooh it was a happy night.

31st August - Rendition at the Bed Bar, Basinghall St , London .
posh place, pseudo-Morrocan decor. We felt like we were being slightly impolite making all that racket after the acoustic stylings of the preceding act. Parsley liked it - review in Artrocker soon.

26th July - The Borderline, London . Four band bill, us on second. A bit early in the evening for serious arse-kicking, but a good one nevertheless. Sold some CDs before we even finished playing. We were also contratulated on our gratuitous use of the word 'piss' in our art.

23rd July - Command House, Chatham. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. We rocked like a mutha. (Is that phrase still in use? We rocked like something mispelt in an arbitrary yet enigmatic manner.)

22nd July - The Loaded Dog, Leytonstone - of the 3 bands booked, we were the only one to turn up, on what was a very strange night in London . Eerily quiet, for obvious reasons.

25th June - The Pleasure Unit, Bethnal Green. - Supporting the Treliks. We were first on, but it was a good response. And it even sounded OK, so we've knocked the 'dis' off the name of the venue this time.

24th June - Dirty Water club, Tufnell Park . With the Buff Medways. A good night all round - much backslapping and ego-boosting. And fuzzy vocals as well. And we bottled out of playing our tribute to the Childish Sound System, 'Shit P.A.'

17th June - The Windmill, Brixton. With The Len Price 3 and Fallen Leaves - Far too drunk. The beginning of our 2 pint rule. We've been shit hot since. And been able to drive home afterwards, albeit really badly due to being wired on Red Bull and the like.

3rd June - Give and Go club, AFC Wimbledon - great reaction, nice people.

29th May
Afternoon - Rubber Soul, Mathew Street , Liverpool (International Pop Overthrow Festival)
Evening - Cavern Club, Mathew Street , Liverpool (International Pop Overthrow Festival)

20th March - The Standard, Walthamstow - 15 minutes of fun at the hastily arranged Punk Aid night.

18th March - The Windmill, Brixton - last minute slot…c'mon you trendies dance!

4th March - The Alma , Crystal Palace - with The Not-Too-Distant-Future and The Dominoes. Muchio danciolation.

26th February - The Borderline, London - supporting The Bureau - top sound - top gig

30th January - Goldsmith's Tavern, New Cross (Red Cross Tsunami benefit) - take that hat off you delinquent!

27th January - Fox and Firkin, Lewisham - we were Hot Shit and Raw Poo lived up to their name.

26th January - Command House, Chatham - Headpress have this on video somewhere - Orange 's debut I believe.

10th January - New Cross Inn , New Cross. Hope they get the PA fixed soon… A night of inaudible vocals

1st January - Tsunami Club, Koln , Germany (a rather unfortunately named club under the circumstances) - Tonight Matthew I'm going to be Lemmy

2004

29th December - Bootshaus, Bamberg , Germany . With Crazy CandyDates (top), Hombre (worst band ever) and Hartwurstsuppe (didn't get to see them but nice bunch)
